I need your expertise here gentlemen,

I installed my headers a couple of weeks back. Everything seems to be fine so far. Over the weekend I heard this guy saying that headers tend to leak all the time, that they are a pain in the ass to maintain and that they need to get tighten up all the time, Is this true?
Not that I'm thinking on taking the headers off, I just want to know so I keep an eye on them.
Thanks,

Carlos

I've got a leak too (I'm pretty sure) but it's with the midpipe/manifold connection.

I think if you torque the bolts, you should be ok. I installed it cold (car sat all night before). I'm not sure if it'd be better to install it, run it for a while, and re-torque the bolts on the connections.

I'm sure there are more mechanical types here than I.

Mine actually got worse over the last couple weeks. I drove it on the 14th, then it sat until last Saturday (the 29th). It's really noticable now...

Bah.

I haven't had any problems yet but, in case they start leaking,
Does anyone know of a brand of gaskets that may work? or any tricks?

Thanks

You will obviously want to re-torque if you hear a leak. With a swival and jack stands, it is very simple to retorque them. In fact, I just did it last weekend for the midpipe I installed several years ago. If you run it a week and retorque, you should be good to go forever. I had never retorqued mine before.
