I have a 2002 GT and I was considering installing headers. Would this void my warranty? How much can I expect to pay for them and installation. Will it effect the power or sound very much?

depends on dealer but first- does the area you live have smog and are you going with shorties or longtubes?

Expect to pay anywhere from $250-$500 per. Installation cost, last time i checked $500-$600. There will be a big increase in rwhp/rwtq depending on current mods and will make a difference in sound.

smog isn't a big deal here, i don't think. I live in Missouri. What is the difference between short and long tube headers? What kind of power increase are you talking about? 10 rwhp?

If you're doing headers don't even bother with shorties if lts are an option...you will notice a negligible difference with shorties...lts and an o/r pipe will give you a noticeable gain

if you people you are tight with at the dealer then it shouldn't be a problem. some guys can be jerks. how important is your warrenty? my dealer covered my car until i started doing serious mods.

Both shorties and long tubes will give you better sound, but only the long tubes will give you any noticeable gain on a N/A car. As I understand it, the shorties don't really help much as the stock manifolds are actually pretty good.

Either are very tough to install on the 4.6s...take a look in the engine bay from below and see why. :D
