headers with AOD???

I've heard mixed views on which headers fit around an AOD. I went with Hedman's shortys when I did my AOD swap. They fit great and leave adequate clearance. They were less than $120.

One other thought... one of the big car magazines (Hot Rod or Car Craft) compared long tube and shorty headers and found that the shortys compared very favorably, and I think they even made more power, but they also moved the power higher in the rpm range. This might actually be a good thing if you've already got traction problems.

Hope this helps.

I got mine at Summit Racing , specifically the HED-88400 . Price has gone up to $125.88, still pretty reasonable. They come with gaskets, collectors/reducers, and bolts. I haven't put a lot of miles on mine yet, but I think I'll probably upgrade gaskets and bolts eventually based on my experience with other headers in the past. Quality is pretty good... not as good as say Hooker super comps or JBAs, but then again, they ain't as pricey either.

One other thing... they were the absolute easiest install of any set of headers I've ever done (probably 6 or 7 sets over the years, including a particularly tough set on a '67 GTO). Total time to install was maybe 30 minutes, and that included pulling the original manifolds. The exhaust shop did complain a bit about running a 2.5" pipes off of them since 2.5" to 2.5" collectors aren't regular stock items. Still, they were able to get it done in a few hours... and $400 later.

lol, the picture on summit is for chevy headers it looks like. You wouldnt be able to snap a picture or two of yours. I'd like to find some decent headers for the turbo build I'm doing without buying/returning/buying/returning :)
