ok what would be better long tubes or shortie headers? this is goin on a 2003 gt
the reason being?

Long tubes make more power. Can't pass smog in some states though.

longtubes, make more power...have less ground clearence

shorties, the total opposite of longtubes...less power, mroe ground clearence




im gonna get shorties because the roads here are terrible, and i wouldnt be able to go over the speed bumps at my college with longtubes..and i also drive a road full of pot holes every weekend on the way to my cottage.

you could always get the bassani headers. they are in between longtubes and shorties.

Ya Midlengths are what I have sort of but they a longer than most midlengths and shorter than most LTs. I got JBAs.

LTs: Sound better, make more power, aren't SMOG Legal, and BITCH to install
Shorties: Not as much power, SMOG Legal, Easier to install

Midlenths: Just Kind in between LTs and Shorties

I never took pics of them off the car, but I can snap a few shots of them on the car, you cant really see much.

I refuse to get shorties because both they and LT's are a pita to install and the labor is about the same. I rather pay that money knowing I am making 20-30 rwhp more throughout the powerband verse 5-10 for shorties.

2 Cobras here and both have had LT's.

It all depends on your plans. I love my LT headers, but I am to the point where I am tired of hitting them on speed bumps and other things.

Also, get locking fasteners if you do LTs.. I wish I would have..

Also, guys who have radical suspension setups (like me) will have a hard time clearing LT headers - almost ALL LT's on the market for our cars have VERY little room for the steering shaft, so if you have an upwardly located rack (like me) you're fubar'd! My car is actually up on stands right now, was contemplating just fixing the leaks with my LT's and banging on them till I get enough room for the steering shaft...but it's almost not worth it, JBA shorties might be on order here pretty soon...

I have the Bassanis and they make good power. I would go with LT way before shorties but I wanted the ground clearance.

PM me if your intrested in JBAs, my friend sells them and helped me install my JBAs. I would say the JBA midlenths would be ok on your car, the drivers side was cake but the passenger side took a little beating of the firewall to get it fit.

i have mac longtubes and if i had to do it again i would get bassani midlengths b/c they are easier to install due to the individual primary tubes
