Headlights Turning On And Off

Randomly while i drive at night my headlights and fog lights will turn off. If i hold down my high beams they will stay on. If i stop, turn my car off, turn off the lights then start it back up again the headlights will work. Its a 50/50 shot whether or not the will shutoff again. Sometimes i can go all night without them shutting off. Completely random. 92 5.0 GT

It is a common problem with the gt's. The circuit cannot handle both the fog lights and the headlights, sometimes it will burn out the light switch. The common fix is to run new power wires to the fog lights and use the fog light switch to actuate a relay. This takes the fog light current off of the headlight circuit. To get by for now, just leave your fog lights off.

Hmm i'm not to educated when it comes to wiring. Any How- To's anywhere i can read?

Been through that problem with every fox gt I've owned. Ford should've put out a TSB or recall for it. That fix works well. Once you do it you won't have any more problems.
