heating problems

ok so about a year ago i turn on my car put the heat on and it has been stuck on defrost ever since. i can put it on max a/c and it will still blow out defrost. i replaced the the whole control thing and it wasnt that. im thinkin its the vacuum lines? do u guys have a diagram for that? is that the problem?

Its the vacuum lines. As far as where they are, they are on the passenger side. I think the tree is in the engine bay, but it might be under the dash. I cant remember. But yea, this is a common problem.

ok great so ill probly have to replace the lines? how does that work. do they sell them like pre-formed and stuff

Just go to an autoparts store and get a few feet of hose.

And it might have just popped off the nipple.

There's a vacuum line that runs from the vacuum tee by the brake booster, along the firewall and goes into the cabin on the passenger side firewall near the heater hoses/ac dryer.

Check it for breaks.

More than likely, it's the small vacuum line that runs along the firewall. It has a tendency to break, then all of your climate controls are stuck blowing out the defroster.

I did mine two weeks ago, one of the hoses that was connected to a vacuum tree broke in half so I went to autozone and bought the same size. Now I can enjoy my AC in wintertime
