My OE turn signal flasher failed about a year ago and since then I have replaced it about 3 or 4 times with generic replacements from the auto parts store. They will get stuck in the on or off position within 2-3 months. They work fine up until that point. Usually tapping on them will get them unstuck temporarily and then they work fine until they get stuck again.

My question is whether or not I have faulty wiring or if these flashers are just junk.

There are newer, digital units that [do not care] about what light bulbs you run.

Our OEM units ran and were driven by current. The contacts heat and separate. When the cool, the contact closes again.

On digital units, the contact opens and closes through a timer. It eliminates issues with mismatched bulbs and/or poor current flow.

Let me go out and take a picture of the one I put in the Coupe. I stand corrected I just used a CEC heavy duty flasher. It is a clear yellowish color so for some reason I had it in my head it was a digital one. Looked them up and I did not remember a ground wire which mine does not have. This solved my emergency flashers being super slow. The flasher hangs upside down to I rotated the pics to make it easier to read. Just wanted to point that out in case things looked weird.

Yeah the flasher doesn't have a dedicated ground. Where can I check grounds?

I would probably start by making a temp ground to the ground pin on your relay. Just a wire that is grounded really well. Test the relay. If it work then start troubleshooting the ground wire back to the connection or chassis.

A trouble light can help with this.
