HELP! 393, 408, 410, 418 ci guys...Do these cars have "drone?"

Drone like the 5.0? (drone being the annoying boominess not the cool sound of the 5.0 - 2 separate items).

Reason I am asking is that I cant decide on which g-force top gear to go with - .59, .73, or .. they can do .68 stock gear..

.59 with my 3.27's = 1747rpm @ 70mph (too low)
.68 " " " = 2009rpm @ 70mph (hmm,..)
.73 " " " = 2157rpm @ 70mph (hmm,..)

Is this a LOUD engine compared to the 5.0? HWY loud boomy? If so, at what rpms? The 5.0 is boomy from 1850-2200...how about these engines? Thanks.:SNSign:

Also, does the 2.94 1st take away the gitty up? compared to the stock 3.35 1st gear? ( I have 3.27's)

p.s. I think the .68 top gear is almost perfect on second thought since this eng has so muchT Q down low....

Depends on the exhaust setup. My car is very loud, but it doesn't have that "boomy" drone like my stock engine did. It's actually quieter inside than my brothers stock 5.0 with turndowns even tho my exhaust is a lot louder.

I guess it just all depends upon what exhaust setup you get. I originally had a catted x and flowmaster 50 series mufflers, and it wasn't very annoying at all. Now with an O/R H is quite a bit louder, but sounds a lot better imho.

My tko 600 has the 2.87 first gear and still the stock 3.08 rear gears (soon to change) and I could definitely see that there is more potential for giddyup right off the line, but I think that 3.73s will take care of that and it will be about perfect.
