I just recently replaced my radiator becuase of a hole. I also decided to change my lifters, as they were getting sticky. I did it all at once, and now my system is not building up any water pressure.

The fear of the lower being done incorrectly, I have redone it, and it all checks out. There are no visual leaks, and the system worked fine before, and isn't making any pressure now.

I use the pressure tester and load the system to 16 lbs, and it takes about 15 min for the line to drop 1lb.

The thing that i done understand how can the leak be so small, but the system is unable to build up any pressure.

Any help or input is greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

How do you know the system isnt making any pressure? If there was a leak, you'd have water going somewhere, not just pressure. Check your cap.

The pressure tester takes the place of the cap and we tested the same pressure tester on my car and it held 17lbs. just fine. There isn't any white smoke, water in the oil, just plain wierd. The car never seems to get to temp(using stock gauge... he knows) but its not even close using your hand. The upper hose(goodyear hoses) never has any pressure on it no matter how hard you beat on the it... we both are stumped... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Another thing that isn't in his sig is a Griffin radiator.

I know, thats why I said check the cap. If its leaking, the system just vents into the overflow. Now that 87stang mentioned it, he is using a themostat, right? An aluminum radiator wont let it get to operating temp without one. Also, 180* will only register on the first 1/4 to 1/3 up on most stock gages, so dont base any measurements on it. If it ever hits the red, you've gone far past boiling.

Sorry I got ahead of myself. He has a Mr. Gasket 180 degree thermostat which we initially thought was the issue and we have tried two stant radiator caps which held I believe 15 to 16 lbs. Thanks for the help guys.
