Well, My car grinds real bad going into second if you rev it over 2 1/2 grand in rpms. My clutch has been real stiff every since i got my car. My cousin drove my car who also has a mustang gt, and said he thinks the grinding going into second is because the clutch is bad. But the guy i bought it off of said he thought the syncro was going out of second. Every 5 speed i have drove has a real smooth clutch and mine is real stiff. I was wondering if this could be my problem instead of the syncro. My car is susposed to go into the shop monday for the syncro but i have doubts that is the problem. Help would be needed.

IT could be the clutch cable. they stretch over time and get harder to use. My car has a stiff clutch and this is 90% of it...

See if there is some slack in the cable. Try to move the clutch arm by hand...

I bet that is all it is.

Mine is pretty stiff too. I've even had a clutch replacement, transmission rebuild and clutch cable check. Still it's stiff. I just accepted it! I have had the car for 5 years. It hasn't gotten worse.

If it only grinds in second, then you probably have a bad synchro or something else in the transmission.

Exact same here. But he did say it was grinding in 2nd. I agree w/ Mike.
