Help, blinkers don't blink

Hello fellow Mustangers,

I have a baffeling blinker problem. When I turn on the left or right turn signal all that happens is the respective dash indicator comes on and stays on and the respective tail light and front parking light comes on and stays on. No blinking takes place. All other functions work: tail, brake and four-way flashers. I have replaced the under dash flasher and the fuse checked out OK. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Six cylinder 66 Mustang convertible.

There are two flashers in the dash. One does the 4 ways, the other the blinkers. And to insure the flasher works after replacing it and you have a bulb burn out, replace the flasher with a heavy duty one.

Thanks, I wondered about that because the owners manual only shows one and that one is behind the driver side kick panel, above the fuse box. The one I was familiar with, and the one I changed, is beneath the dash, near the radio. I will do as you suggest and replace that one as well. Thanks again.
