I'm looking at an 85 gt convertible. very nice car but it has the automatic trans. From what I can gather this means it has the trottle body injection and a different block that the 85/5 spd cars. rated at only 180 hp. The car is definately slower that the other gt's i've owned. Im looking for a fun car to throw the kids in on a sunny day, and cruise, autocross a little and run down the track on test and tune nights when i get the chance. Basically an all around driver. I can't seem to find much information on this engine/trans combo. I definately want to hop up whatever i end up with. Those in the know, am I wasting my time and money on this car, should I keep looking or can this combo be worked with?
