I've been trying to hunt down the problem that plague my mustang. My car when I try to start it seems not to have enough juice to turn it over. So I brought my optima back and got a need one. Still did the samething. I replaced the starter and still did the samething. The battery gauge says it's charging and the battery is ok. I'm losing my mind. I have a TDC turbo kit and everything is relocated. I cleaned the ground some connections by the fuse box under the hood. I was wondering if it's the starter relay, or igition switch, or maybe my motor is shot and the starter can't turn it over. lol Please leave some info on anything it's driving me nuts. Thanks

It could be your battery cables. Even with a new battery and a new starter, if you have old cables, the internal resistance, or the resistance at the ground connection can be so great that once the cables get heat soaked (or otherwise) the car wont start. Dont assume a cable is good because the casing is solid and the ends are clean.

I'm sure you have relocated the battery to the trunk ? Check the cables. I'd get brass terminals too (mine don't corrode period)

Did ya try to push start it ? Tell me it's a manual. (nevermind king Cobra clutch)

Could be any of those electrical things - :bang:

My battery is relocated to the trunk. The ground is where the spare tire is. It's a bolt welded to the body and the ground is there. It has worked for 2 years. Is there any tester I can get to check how good the ground is? It push starts just fine too. I think I will redo the cablles and see. Thanks guys
