Like subject says.. I did a carb conversion & T5 conversion at the same time on my '91GT.. Got everything all buttoned up and went to start it and it wont start.. Starter wont turn over.. Here's what I did..

First, charged the battery.. Interior lights work.. as well as wipers, radio, headlights, brake lights, rear defroster, elec choke....And fuel pump.

Turn signals and hazards DO NOT work. Forgot to check reverse lights.
And starter wont crank.

I took 2 wires and a toggle switch and connected it to the starter relay/remote solenoid to verify starter is OK and It Turned over. So starter is good.

Used a test light at all wires on that solenoid and all have power.

What did I do wrong?????

With the carb conversion, i removed the computer and all engine/fuel injection harness.. Re-wired for distributor/msd/coil..Forgot to verify power there, but I am more concerned right now with it not cranking.

With T5 conversion, the T5 is from an '86.. Car is a '91. Everyone says I need the harness from the 87-newer b/c it is different, but the 86 harness plugged right in where the aod was behind the driver side kick panel.
I connected to 2 plugs at the clutch safety switch on the pedal assembly.

Can it be a bad clutch safety switch? Can i test it? I removed both plugs and it still wouldnt crank..

I cant think of anything else.. Car has benn sitting for a fe months.. Last time it was started was last nov/december..

Just a run down, Starter works.. But wont crank when i turn the key.
Turn signals and hazard lights also do not work.. Is there something that came from the engine harness I needed to connect to get those lights working again?
I am pressing the clutch pedal to the floor, and it is in neutral when i try to start it..

And I know the starter solenoid/relay(not sure which it is referred to as) b/c I took it off of a running car. ( I broke mine by overtightening the battery cable on it..)And like I said, i jumped the starter with a toggle switch from the solenoid.

I'm stumped and really need some help.. ideas..advice.. hope.. lol

thanks
joe

what is that circuit breaker for on the starter solenoid?? It is a little rectangle box with 1 wire going to it.. also, what are the wires for that connect to the solenoid? Besides the wire the goes to the starter, pos to battery, and ground to block, there is that little breaker and 2 other wires.. plus another wire on the top terminal.. That one is Red w/blue stripe.. That is the pos(+) for the coil, right??

To bypass the clutch switch, you would need to unplug the connector that had the jumper in it and put it back in. Otherwise you still have not completed the circuit.

If your car was a AOD car you will have to bypass the netrual safety switch or somthing like that, when i switched over to a c-4 i had the same trouble i had to use a jumper wire.
