Help car wont start working on it now

what part do you need help with (sorry, im confused).
i think the easiest thing to do is find the FP relay (like you are trying to do) and then go from there. depending upon what values you get, that will determine what direction you go to fix it.
you can also jump the FP as J.R outlined in his post (find 2. then look a few lines after 'Clue'). he describes it.

the FP relay should be under the drivers seat or under the hood. it might be buried under carpet under the seat (though mine was not).
or look on the pass side strut tower area. under the air inlet tube, you should see (hopefully) two relays. if only one is there, i think your relay is under the seat. again, J.R outlined this in his post - im just using different references for ya.

last thing: the fusible link is off the starter solenoid, IIRC. they are a pain to trace. hopefully you find the relay, and find that you have power to that connector.

good luck.

i cant find the fuel relay anywhere i also dont know what it looks like could someone post a pic. i did see 2 boxes under my mass air. maybe one is the relay but the wires dont match up with the wires that post listed. could a relay go bad? also my fuel cut off switch is fine but doesnt seem to get any volts to the wires. (yes the key was in the on position) i just installed 2 days ago a 255lph bbk fuel pump and it was running fine even with boost but yesterday it just cut off on me and would start. that has to be an electrical problem but i cant seem to find it what should i be looking for a broken fuse?? ( all fuses in fuse box were fine) if there is anything im missing please let me know.

as far as i know, there is no fuse - only the fusable link off the solenoid.

the wire colors might not match up with whatever reference you are using. it is just a generic black Ford relay. should be 4 wires on it (like most other relays).
you should be able to feel the relay energize when the key is turned on. now, the pump primes when the key is first turned on, but after that, i dont think the relay has juice to it (until you start the car - i could be wrong though, but that seems logical).

once you find the relay, we can help you a lot more. the FP is one thing you dont want to play with - a spark and fuel dont mix (or i should say, mix very well). be careful and all that.

i just re-read this mess of a thread. now if you know your inertia switch has no power to it.....IIRC, the inertia switch gets juice from the power relay (it then goes through the inertia switch and to the FP relay).

ok my inersia switch has no power and ive found the fuel pump relay because theres 4 wires comeing from it and theres 2 boxes under the mass air meter. so what do i do know that ive found it?

ok im trying to test the wires from the solenoid which one goes to the fuel pump relay?
i think it is orange/light blue (per one of Tom's diagrams and my foggy memory)....but the color could have changed by your model year.
it should show up as a constant power (12 volt) source - the other one will be switched (JR, feel free to correct me on any of this).

good luck, bud.

ok i found the realy because i connected a 12v sorce to the black/orange wire and it pumped gas for 10secs then it stoped and then i tried to start car no go so i checked again for spark and have it then i tried to make the pump pump again and it wont cut on at all anymore i did give 12v to the other wires wile finding the pump wire it sounded like it made the injectors open and close it scared me. im worried because the pump wont cut back on that i messed something else up??? im going to buy a new relay and see what happends but the pump wont turn on anymore what could cause this??

i just got a new relay and it doesnt look anything like the one i thought was it so it not the relay. so where could it be could it be under my seat really tucked under?? dam this is frustrating. it looks like ill be pulling my seat off for it

what wire is the black/orange wire? BTW, it does matter what order you put the colors in - the color of the wire is listed first, and the stripe is second (in case that helps us help you. i dont recall a black and orange wire). however, your wire colors may be different than mine and Tom's. :-)
but if we knew what that wire went to (or where you found it), that would help. and if you already mentioned it, and i missed it, i apologize (this thread is ugly). :-)

dig your hand under the driver seat if you cant find the relay elsewhere. sometimes it is under the carpet. you should feel a square and a wiring harness somewhere.
