Help!!!! dome light?!?!?!??!?

aight my dome light wont turn off with the car off and the car dings like when the door is open when i drive it and hit a bump. any solutions anybody. please its driving me nuts.

I had the same problem and I finally figured out I had to turn my headlight switch all the way to the right until it clicked. Try that.

you could have a bent stopper where the door wedges and turns off the light.

Had the same problem except the ding never stopped. Turned out to be a defective door catch (mechanism located inside the door).

you need a new door ajar switch..you have to take the whole door panel off to get to it..it sucks i had to do it on my old stang

Another vote for: It is the switch that senses when the door is open.

ok i got the light off now but the dinging still goes when i turn the dome on and have headlights on. it doesnt ding with the headlights off though. is it still the door thingy and if so which one?

It could be either door switch. Your car thinks the door is open. It's either the switch or a relay. Check a Chilton manual for the wiring to see where the devices are located in the car. Haynes may not give you this information.
