Help...Hesitation Problem

I have a 2001 Mustang GT, 41,000 miles, before I take it to the shop and get raped.....does anyone have any suggestions...........Recently it started hesitating when you accelerate from a stop. Once you reach about 40mph, it quits. It does not do it all the time; some days she has no problems and then she has her bad days. I have changed the PCV valve and the fuel filter, and the check engine light has not come on.

I have been told it may be a spark plug coil, but if that was the case, wouldn't she hesitate all of the time.

I have also been told it may be the fuel pump.

Not yet, probably tinker with her this weekend. If the air silencer has been removed would that cause any problems?

Are you getting a Check Engine Light? If so, check out Autozone. They can pull your codes for free.

Let us know if you get it fixed.

Check engine light has not come on.
