Sounds like something is sliding in the trans. If its your trans don't get it rebuild. I have a friend that keeps letting people rebuild his trans because he hears they are really good only to blow them in a few 100 miles.

If you have the money, get yourself a nice built trans. You can put like a 3200 stall in it with a shift kit and you'll be fly'n. Well most built trans come with a shift kit.

Well when you floor it and its not going any where just making noise, its the trans or your drive shift fell off. It can be other things too but i don't know. I would have to see your car to tell you.

4 years that is a long time. Ford never made a good auto. My friend got a nice built trans with stall for 1700 dollars. You can get it cheaper you just have to look.

Don't look at it as "just a blown trans" think of it this way its a up grade. That is how i look at things when my car breaks.

take it to a specialist.. my 97 riviera did that **** and it turned out to be the module inside the tranny.

If you look to buy a good second hand tranny with 25000Mile on it (like new)
shoot me an E-Mail :
Grabbs@nbnet.nb.ca

I have a 2000GT with auto tranny and have bought a manual kit to convert the tranny from automatic to manual. I have no problem with the tranny at all, just that i prefer driving manual. The car has never seen the track and will never see it. The reason i bought a Mustang with auto tranny, is that my wife is not driving manual, but, i finally convince her that most of the time, Im the only one driving it anyway. Found a wrecked GT with manual tranny at a good price, so the swap should be done without problem.

Have a nice day.

I appreciate the offer grabber. If Ford tells me to take a hike (which i'm sure they will cause of my mods) then i might take you up on that. BTW if my TPS was going bad would that not also cause this problem??

You nailed it. Im willing to bet your problem is the tps, not the tranny. Change that first lol, its a lot cheaper .
