MY 97 COBRA OUT OF THE BLUE STARTED BREAKING UP AT 5800 RPMS.WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS I HAVE CHECKED MOST OF THE THINGS .CHANGED ALL KIND OF SENSORS COILS PLEASE HELP

> check your fuel psi and make sure it's not dropping out in the high rpm's>
if thats not it them check you crank> sensor > sometimes a electrical problem is the worst think to deal with > ( If it's a electrical problem ) take your time and go over everything twice > a couple of buddys and a case of beer helps> sometimes more heads more ideas good luck !

??? sell it to me cheap > that would solve it > did you try looking at the plug wires in the dark to see if there cracked and grounding out under load? what about your cam sensor on the driver side head?

Your gap on the plugs is too great or your fuel filter is cloged.

Did you check fuel pressure AT WOT at idle does you no good..


after that I would check the crank pulley balancer and see if it's coming apart or if the trigger wheel is damaged.

motor got rebuilt last year problem still there also running lean bank 2 .havent found anybody with help this sucks

mine has a check engine light too for a lean condition on bank two > I was going to change the o2 and see if that fixed it > I haven't checked the intake gasket yet> I still drive it everyday.

swap them to other side more than likley its not o2 at least my car didnt change ive checked everything that could be possible.

does anyone know how to check for intake leak?besides spraying carb cleaner around tried that nothing happened.also wouldnt you notice a leak by watching my boost gauge got great vacuum at idle 22lbs no fluctuations.any more ideas would be appreciated car still breaks up at 5800 rpms unless i gap my plugs down but that doesnt explain whats really wrong because when i installed the blower all was great for 6 moths then started to break up at 5800

Stock injectors? Changed your fuel filter? Cleaned the IAC?
How old are the coil packs? When did you last change wires?
When did you last have it tuned?

new injectors last summer, new coil packs ,new fuel filter. wires were done last summer same with tune sept tune done on dyno

There's your problem. If they aren't OEM or Screamin Demon chances are they can't keep up. MSD are notorious for failing at high rpms.

msd are worse than stock coils. Get rid of them.
