HELP ME BEND MY 1969 CONVERTIBLE

HI I'm looking for a measurement for chepsk8....I bought new doors because I thought my old doors were bent as the bottom of the doors stuck out about a quarter inch on both sides but just in the back. Every thing up front lined up pretty good. I started shimming out the top hing to bring the bottom rear in and I almost got it there but now I have a huge gap between the fenders and the hood. Any to make a long story even longer I think my rear quarters are bowed out at the top AND I WANT TO BEND IT BACK.......This is the measurement I'm looking for......The distance between the top of the rear quarters measured from the hole that the glass comes up through at the front most spot outside of the glass actually where the metal meets the rubber trim piece. If I understand you correctly, the door gaps are good, the door just hangs out over the rocker panel at the bottom in the back and appears too far in at the top. This is common and the fix may sound crazy, but to correct this a body shop will just twist the door. To do this, put both knees on the bottom outside of the door at the very back edge of the door (with the door open), grab the top/back of the door with both hands and pull. Just start with small twists and close the door to check your progress. Be careful not to dent the door with your knees. This corrects the alignment.

If the problem is the other way around (too far in at bottom, out at top) use a block of wood at the bottom in the door jam and push in at the top of the door.

Yep, 69 rustang is right, this is common and a easy fix just like he said. I had 2 stangs like this. If your car was bent, you will see it in a panel.
