Help me decide on this, need some help,is this a good deal? (shaker related)

I have the opportunity to buy a CDC Shaker for $ 650.00. Yes, it sounds like a good deal, BUT, it is UNPAINTED (not CDC's newer black version). Tell me, is this still a good deal, how much would it cost to be painted? Some help from those who have had to buy this kind would be GREAT. Help me please, I want to be able to give him a definite answer. Or should i ask him if he can reduce the price to 600 to cover paint?

Thank You Much

LOL! i was offered the same deal!! It's on ebay. I was interested in buying it for my brother as a birthday gift and saw that it was the older CDC kit. I called CDC to get clarification on the applique. They told me that they DID change the applique due to some fitment issues of their original kit. Some hood appliques would not sit flush and the gaps could not be worked out without bondo or some other filler agent. Anyway, CDC added that just because the applique is grey, does not mean it's an older kit. You might want to call CDC and get the details directly. The auction runs until the 15th, so you should have time. Good luck with it!

I'd but the newer kit. Several members had problems with the old applique, one even had it come off while driving. The newer version is suppossed to be greatly improved. Not worth it to save $50 IMO.

yeah, but he's local here, and just liked that idea of getting it without the shipping hassles. but i might not end up getting it after all. It still seems kinda expensive for me, and really dont like going through the painting process of this one. thanks though guys. but my mind changes all the time
