my door panels started to rattle ...... well curently i have infinity kappa 6.5 speakers and something within my door panel is rattling. I was wondering if anyone knew how to take off the whole door panel so i can dynamat the crap out of my doors.
I took off everything, including the waterguard before I started installing it. It takes some time, just to warn you. I think mine took about 6hrs. each for 2 layers. Be sure to clean and prep the surface before you start laying it down. Also, a heat gun will be very helpful to help get the mat more pliable, and helps it adhere to the panel better.
Yeah, it's not terribly difficult, but time consuming as BBrinks said....One thing I want to point out is that you need to make sure that you leave all those square holes open for the door panels' "hooks" to grab. The first time I did my doors, I went gungho with covering all the holes I could, and didn't even think about those particular holes. When it came time to put the panel back on, I probably sat there for about 10 minutes shoving it and banging on it and throwing up a rather impressive volley of 4-letter words until I realized what I had done. Felt like a complete tool afterwards, but oh well.
Did my doors today. I have no prior experience with Dynamat or removing door panels from Mustang. It took about 3 hours for the first door and about 2 for the second. One problem I ran into was removing the speaker housing...it is riveted to the door frame. I had to drill through the rivet and bust it out. I replaced it with a bolt, washer and locknut...it ain't goin anywhere now!
I am very pleased with the result. It has made a huge difference. The doors make a nice firm clunk sound when they close and no more speaker rattle. I recommend doing it to any of you guys out there!

Looks good I'd recommend covering up the holes where you can see the window mechanism. It helps seal the door up some, and I noticed a big improvement in midbass when I sealed mine. Just a thought. If you're using stock speakers, you might not notice much of a difference.
I actually put the factory splash guard back in on top of the dynamat...works fine, and I thought I would leave the big holes just in case I need to do some window work...and I ran out of Dynamat!
I am still running the Mach 460 for the time being....it is not too bad with the doors sealed and the subs I put in the trunk (2 10' Alpine type R'S and Alpine MRD M500)....doesn't compare to the Bose system in my Envoy though...
I was actually going to ask if you put the waterguard back on, I didn't mean to post but pressed the reply button on accident. That speaker bracket was a pain for me too. The rivets were a pain to drill out.
