I'm looking for a catback system for my gt. I want a deep rumble, that is loud but not to loud to get pulled over. I want the classic muscle car sound and don't like the raspy sound at all. I was leaning towards either the borla or steeda system. Would this be my best choice? Help me out guys

Steeda has a nice system but its pretty pricey, if you got the cash go with steeda.

IIRC, Borla and Steeda are the same system, Steeda just puts their logos on it.

www.mustangexhaust.com to hear all kinds of combinations - registration is required, but it's quick and FREE!
Go with the Flowmasters (Flowmaster American Thunder Catback) if you want the classic Musang sound.

The flowmasters will give that deep rumbly "classic mustang" sound you want. But listen to twogts4us and check out that site

MagnaFlow MagnaPacks with a nice H-pipe. I prefer the X-pipe but the H-pipe gives you a nice deep tone... Packs aren't too loud until WOT, then watch out!

Nice site from Spreadman:

I just got an o/r x-pipe and Dynomax Ultraflow welded's. You will get that nice rumble, but the scream of the X-pipe. Its like a mix between flows and magnapacks. Perfect compromise for me. I wanted the deep rumble too, much like on one of my friends mustangs with Dynomax w/h-pipe. I think mine sounds better with the X. You'll be happy .

If you want the classic muscle car sound as you stated, the best one is the SLP Loudmouth. Just don't plan on adding an OR X with it. Here is where you can get a sound clip. I generally hate sound clips because they just don't do any exhaust justice.

Flows have the "typical Mustang sound" for this I would recomend the American Thounder Catback.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page for two sound clips.

Well, since just about every brand and combination has been mentioned, let me add Mac Flowpaths with an H-pipe to this list. I've been searching for the same deep classic muscle car sound without the blaaaap Ferrari-like sound and I've leaned towards this combination.

This is like asking around for the best fitting shoe size. :sigh:

borla and steeda are the same. get the borla stinger(cheaper). then get the mrt stainless off road h-pipe. full stainless setup unlike rustmaster. you will love the sound. I have the regular borla and I like it is just like $100 more now than when I bought it.

I to vote for the MAC Flowpaths and o/r H-pipe. Gives it a nice deep rumble and bark. Really sounds good with my cams. I had full Bassani before and when I put the cams in, it was just too loud and rattle sounding. Sound is a person's own opinion.
