SLP LMII (the new one that came out) is a great exhaust (paired up with UPR X-Pipe). Does its job under heavy accel. but driving at 2k rpms cruising is almost hard to detect you even have an exhaust. Very close to stock sounding in 5th gear at 60.

I just posted a sound clip of the FRPP catback in this thread with catted X installed if you want a listen. Decent quality and can verify that there is no drone.

but what kind of flows did you have, i have a hard time believing that you had 40 series 2 chambers on there and could "barely hear them" they are pretty damn loud.Orions98GT said:well im saying with an o/r h its too loud for me, But I had the flowmaster c/b on it before the o/r pipe was on, it was way too quiet, could barely hear the exhaust.

it was the 40's series I bought the car with. with the stock h the engine noise was lounder then the exhaust.

Man I thought we were talking loud here GEEZ....My 1 chamber flows with my offroad Mac H pipe is alot louder than any 40 series flowmaster...with alot more drone thats why i just bought a bassani catback.

Really, so if i want a nice sound outside, and no drone inside then i should buy 40 series right?Orions98GT said:it was the 40's series I bought the car with. with the stock h the engine noise was lounder then the exhaust.

They call them drone masters around here if you dig a little deeper.
I've been thinking about my problem with my ears ringing after my first day of driving and I think it was the Mach 460 stereo, not the exhaust

So what exhaust should i buy to make it loud outside, have as little drone as possible, and still have that mean ass growl?

The SLP and the stingers are way loud although i like them. My setup is magnaflow ss catback and upr o/r x pipe. Theres no doubt its loud as hell. My neighbor is a cop and he told me that i should aviod going wot cause some cops hate the loud stangs and look to single them out. I dont think the drone is bad. If you go catted x the magnaflows would be a good match. They are not to loud when cruising but scream at wot.

ya but magnaflows just sound too mellow for me, i like that flowmaster growl, but just without the side effects of drone...i guess i can wish in one hand and **** in the other.

if your going to keep the factory H pipe the 40's are good sounding, but like almost everyone you will change it in the future. So just get a mac or bassani c/b

original 40's
Delta Flow 40's
or
Super 40's
I think im going with the Super 40's
Which one of these mufflers has the correct offset and pipe diameter for just a weld in a stock exhaust???

They only list the part number I used (M5230M52) for supporting years 98-2001. Not sure why that would be the case unless they changed the hanger locations after the 2k1 model year. Maybe calling someone that carries the catback and asking/confirming, then post the reply so we can learn?
