If I can convince the fiance, I may very well use part of my tax return to resurrect the stang. Yes, I'm getting way too much back, I already fixed that problem Here is the combo I put together with a budget.

Any parts that are easy to upgrade and I already have, I'm re-using. I'm re-using the GT-40 tubular intake, stock maf, 1-5/8 bbk shorties, o/r h-pipe, flows, stock radiator, stock pullies, stock everything else.

For now, I want to get the motor in a healthy running condition, with no real emphasis on optimum power. I DO want to get the long block exactly how I want it so I don't have to dig into it after the fact.

Keeping in mind, the long block parts are not going to change, how else can I save some dough here?? I estemated $200 in miscellaneous, unexpected stuff, is that too high? I want to get a realistic budget to under $3,000. That goal is there to give me enough leftover from my tax return to pay down the stupid credit card.

  • 347 stroker, 10.5:1 compression at 58cc (already have)
  • Tune with TwEECer (already have)
  • AFR 185 58cc street heads $1,400.00
  • Cam FTI custom grind $325.00
  • Summit 1.6 rockers $200.00
  • Summit 30lb injectors $200.00
  • Crane lifters $190.00
  • ARP head studs $130.00
  • Summit 255lph fuel pump $120.00
  • Battery $120.00
  • Ford racing black valve covers $100.00
  • Proffesional products fuel pressure regulator $85.00
  • Summit header wrap x2 $70.00
  • Pushrods $60.00
  • Stage 8 header bolt kit $45.00
  • Fel-Pro Rear main seal $43
  • Hondabond HT $13.00
  • Main stud for oil pump $10.00
  • MR.Gasket oil pan bolt kit $10
  • Assembly lube $7.00
  • ARP main Nut for oil pump bracket $4.00
  • Thrust bearing in rear of crank (price?)
  • Misc Parts, fuel lines, filters, wires, hoses, etc $200.00

    [*]Sum $3,332.00

Minus unnecessary things like header wrap, re-use fox valve covers, cheaper ford racing lifters makes the total about $3102. I can't think of what else could be cheapened.

All the prices were from Summit. Maybe someone else is cheaper?

Thanks for the help!!

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
