Do NOT touch anything from SHM, he uses used parts for rebuild engines

If you ever look at any short block the 2 best choices are VT Engines and modular deopt

i really dont know what advice to give, but i would also stay away from shm. no specific reason, just dont like what i hear about them ever.

i saving for either mph or vt engine, dont know which yet. prolly mph.

that forgde crand is a pretty good deal though, whats up with that.

the others dont give you that and they charge more.

however, i dont know if you need the forged crank

I bought my rotating assembly from them and everything was perfect. Perfect balance, everything new. Brand new crank, Manley pistons and Manley rods. They gave me so much tech support, it was great. Unfortunately it sounds like you had a crappy experience. I had a similar experiense with MPH, I'll never buy from them. VT is good quality but you will never get parts on time. I like MMR most myself. They have great service.

wow.....someone needs to record date and time. This is the first time I've ever heard anything negative about MPH. And I have also read several threads of bad experiences from SHM. Sorry to be off topic.

Ive heard a few (like 3 including this one). It seems like there are so many MPH fanatics out there that if anyone dare say they had a less than great experience with them, they face the E-wrath of a lot of MPHs satisfied customers, plus a few hundred nut-huggers that have never even dealt with MPH.

But bottom line is you cant be perfect and cant please everyone. I dont know both sides of the story and I dont care to really. MPH's reputation speaks for itself, but there are other quality shops out there as well. Im saving for MMR Pro Mod 900 with their Stage II heads because Im a poor college student that sells drugs to kids for rent money, MMR seems to have the best prices on their motors and heads.

Never had a problem with MPH or VT. Scott at VT has always sent my parts out fast. They were swamped and I still got my balenced RA within a week.

MPH is as always busy and Tim, Rhonda, or Andy are always available to answer your questions.

SHM was once the go to place for mod performance but unfortunately Sean dropped the ball many years ago. I don't blame him persay, but his halfassed staff he has working there. If you are going to put your name on a product or service make sure the staff has the same quality workmanship as yo would expect.

Bottom line is that some shops have the rep of being the best at what they do and everyone flocks to them. Sometimes what people expect is not always what they get. But the service they provide is still great.

Canada doesn't really have anyone to go to like that unfortunately. Not yet anyway.

I have NEVER EVER heard anything negative about MPH in all the time I have spent on this and other Mustang forums.

I would suggest that anyone who says Tomustang has "no idea what he is talking about" AND THEN bags on MPH in the same breath is not a very reliable source of information...

thxs for the input guys

steen racing is looking good 600hp cap. motor looks good and the price is not bad under 3 grand

i just want to keep every thing under the hood looking stock motor wise anyway but forged once i get the motor the trans will be next

not sure on the kind of trans i should get have not done much research on that yet but when i am done the car will be forged as much as possible i am not a big fan of braking things like turning up the boost and such when you know the motor/tran/parts are at there max or very close to it

so far

forged motor good for 600hp(steen/mph/vt/ect)
forged rear (31spline/differ/gridle/driveshaft/safty loop)
transmission ???? not sure yet
nx nitrous kit (its on the car atm with window switch/100shot/small timming adj/93oct gas)

the car is my daily driver until i can get a ricer (civic or something) to save on gas and get my back and forth to work

so you can see why i cant aford to brake stuff

about the tranny, do you want an auto or manual? For a manual theres the TKO 500/600 or T-56 Viper/Cobra spec.

I'd like to know what your bad experience was. We haven't sent much to Canada so I'm interested to hear what we did wrong to you. Please let me know so I can check into it.
