hey, my friend was installing a amp today and when he put the power wire to the + terminal some sparks shot out(thats the only thing i noticed that was odd) and now my car wont start. I have all power from my battery, all the lights turn on and such. I hold in the clutch and turn the key(radio etc turns on) but the engine wont crank over, theres nothing no sound from the engine or anything, someone help me please! thanks

try the starter solenoid, if the engine cranks when you touch the starter wire to the positive coming from the battery, it is probably screwed up and is pretty cheap. also, the wire on the top must be connected for it to do anything, make sure its connected.
put car in neutral. pull the slide on connector off the starter solenoid (it is a thin wire on top of the solenoid). touch it to the battery lug on the solenoid (the lug with all the wires on it. the other lug has only cable). when touched, does the car turn over? if you dont have the key turned to on, it will turn over but not start. turn the key on and see if it starts.
if not, put a screwdriver across both big lugs on the solenoid. post which works (if any) and go from there.
i would recheck whatever you loosened/removed. normally there is causality (a part you removed and installed is at fault).
good luck.

If jumpering the two big solenoid posts made the starter crank, the logical next step is to replace the starter solenoid (also known as the starter relay).jstang209 said:The screwdriver one worked, what do i do now? thanks
Just be sure that you tried pulling the small wire off the stud and jumpering it to the solenoid post that connects to the battery. If this made the starter crank, you have problems with the neutral safety switch or clutch safety switch. See http://www.autozone.com/images/cds/gif/large/0900823d80195960.gif for a very good diagram of the starter & neutral safety switch wiring
i dont know which small wire your talking about.. i only see one with like a L shaped cap on it, is that what your talking about if not im stumped, that diagram means nothing to me.. i dont know the first thing to do with it, but thanks thought, so i should just buy the starter relay?
