I need a new IAC, I tried to clean the old one but now my idle stays at 3k rpm all the time. I will probably end up going to the dealer, but hopefully someone knows where I can get one quick and relativly cheap....... Also what Exactly is the function and how does this thing work??????

You should be able to get one at any autoparts store. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductList.aspx?parttype=506&ptset=A&searchfor=Idle+Control+Unit

It allows the computer to control the idle by opening or closing the valve; limiting the amount of incoming air.

Stick with a Ford piece not a parts store one. The dealer is your easiest bet but most expensive. I paid $90 for mine at the dealership but I wanted it asap.

Yeah, they don't clean well, it's better to replace it. I had to replace the one on my 1996. I tried cleaning it and it was OK for a week and then it started sticking open and closed. Sometimes the RPMs would go way up, others it would barely idle ... really disconcerting. I found the Ford ones to be 3X as expensive, so I bought one at AutoZone. It was $45. I never had any trouble with it.
