My car has had its battery disconnected for 2 months and been shipped half way across the world. When I turned the engine back on it seems like the engine is running on less than 8 cylinders.

I have only had the car on for approx. 5 minutes idling without driving. I did notice a similar behavior a few years ago, but all I had to do then was just turning the car off and back on and since then the problem has not been reproduced until now.

Could it be because the cars computer needs to relearn the engine or would I have to change the spark plugs or ?

Do you have underdrive pulleys?

Take it for a run for about 30 minutes to see if it clears up. Could just be some trash in the fuel system from sitting up.

I don't have underdrive pulleys. Maybe it'll be enough to take it on a drive - the only problem is I have to pay a 180% tax to drive my car here first, which means I'll probably pay more in tax than I paid for the car as brand new in Colorado 8 years ago. Anyway, hopefully a reconfig of the computer will be all it takes.
