Alright, so me being my stupid self a few weeks ago forgot to pull the battery when putting my H pipe on, and somehow the tube connected to the positive end of the starter and I almost fried myself. Fun. :bang:

Anyways, ever since then whenever I pull the battery for something, then reconnect it and try to start the car the accessories come on, but right when I try turning it over I hear a click (starter shorting out Im guessing) and then the car shuts down completely... when I pull the negative connection off then right back on and do it again, same thing, the accessories go on, I hear a click when i turn it over then everything shuts down.

After I do this about 10 times it'll finally turn over, and once it turns over that first time I wont ever have a problem starting it until I pull the battery again.

Start cycle over. :damnit:

It's more of an annoyance than anything, but I also want to make sure Im not going to explode myself. Anyone know whats wrong? Connections to the starter are fine, nothings touching metal that I can see.

Thanks.

get a new starter, sounds like the solenoid is toast like you said. I dont think your going to hurt anything (besides wearing the battery out from all the turning over) but I would just put a new starter in it. Bet that scared the bajesus outta you.
