i had the same problem with those valve covers. i had my buddy's uncle who is really good with a tig welder patch up the whole you are talking about and he drilled out the other side with a 1" hole saw, so now i can run the breather line with no problem. he charged me 20 bucks to do it, which is reasonable in my book
