Everything seems to be going alright, except that the strut looks like it sticks out the top of the CC plate way too far. I used the spacers like the directions said, and I tried to close the hood, it did close, so it might be alright... just didnt look right so I figgured I'd ask..

I'm almost done with this install.. should be interesting to drive to the alignment shop, I will have changed or uninstalled-reinstalled every component regarding front suspension and steering by the time I get the wheels back on the car

that looks fine. I think I used the big spacers on bottom and small up top. Might want to call MM to ask them what a good starting point is.

Please keep us posted on how those work for you when it's on the road again. I'm looking into coilovers for my car.

In the instructions it states that you should use the spacers to line them up, when I did mine I took them off a couple of times to get the sizing.

i am in the process of collecting the parts for the same thing. already have the k member. need the a arms and coilovers now. Really want to do the longtubes too. Is a tune afterwards totally necessary? Gonna be too much if i need to get all these parts than get an alignement and than a tune on top of that for the longtubes. Might just go with shorties.

If you have a GT don't bother with the shorties.. little less pain, but a lot less gain. Be sure you get the alignment from a good place (using MM's c/c plates which work the best with coilover kits) after all parts are installed of course. Which spring rate are you thinking of? and which front strut? I've got the 00 Cobra R bilstein struts with 350# springs.. Its a perfect combo for stiffness, yet daily drivable.

If your stang is lowered, especially more than the 2 inch drop, that is correct.I had the same issue,so i emailed M/M to make sure that is correct, and that i followed the instruction sheet correctly, and they said that is the way it should be.This will allow the strut to fuction properly without bottoming out in the cylinder. They said it should be further away from the top of the strut tower, not the bottom.Other wise your struts will bottom out all the time, and create more problems, like going through a set of strut every year or less do to the stress.Maybe this is why a lot of guys go through struts so fast.
Another way to solve this issue is to go to a fox body struts, then you wont have so much strut shaft spaced over the strut tower, and allow strut travel without having so much spacers.

I am gonna go witht he street setup from Granatelli. I think its 300lb. Not sure on which struts to go with. Was just gonna try and find the cheapest aftermarket ones on ebay. I figure they have to be better than whats on there already.
