so my insurance company is giving me $12,020 for my totalled 02 true blue gt. but if i keep the car they subtract 900 dollars...the car has just front end and front suspension damage...aside from the radiator the motor and back is perfectly untouched....so i think i can get more then $900 if i keep the car...the question is were to sell it to? i live in the bay area, california. anyone help me out with this one? i was thinking i could get a couple grand for it? or am i trippin?

If you want to sell it here, try listing it in one of the links I gave you above.....but no "fishing" for buyers in open forum please.

+1 Salvage yards only make money by buying cars for less than they think they can part them out for, so I highly doubt they'd give you as much for it as you could get parting it out yourself...

Get it back! I got mine back for a bit more than that, but ended up selling it for $5000! Of course, mine was still driving; just no front end, hood, fenders, or air bags. I had mine on Ebay for 3 days before I had 4 local guys wanting to come look at it. I had the buy it now set at 5000, and one guy brought cash. I took it, and avoided most of ebay's huge car fees.

Yep. Thats correct. I work in sales at a large salvage yard and we buy 10-15 cars at auction every 2 days. Having sat at my desk buying cars at online auctions, I can tell you that 12K is never going to happen. Wrecked 99-04 V6 mustangs can be had for 2500 bucks all day long. Most yards will not buy cars if you walk in because we need full titles along with salvage title paperwork to back up airbag sales, and air bag modules.

You are better off selling this as a private sale. Yards will not give you more than 3 grand I bet.
