I may have posted this elsewhere, but my brake lights on my 94 are staying on, even after I disconnect the switch. I can't figure this one out, and this is my daily driver. I was hoping you guys had some ideas.. Do the lights come on when the circuit completes, or does the switch ground the circuit? I tried shorting the connector as a last resort, and still the lights were on.

I may have to bring it into the dealer $$$$

Thats gotta suck. lol How do I explain? When you are not stepping on the pedal, the switch should be pushed in and the lights should be off. It's when you step on the pedal that the switch is not pushed in and this should cause the lights to come on. You either need to adjust the switch position such that it is depressed when you are not stepping on the pedal or replace the switch. Another thing to consider, sometimes they put a rubber or plastic bumber pad between the pedal and switch, if this little bumber falls off or breaks, then your brake lights will stay on. So, have you found any small pieces of rubber or plastic on your carpet lately? If this is your problem then you could just get a little adhesive rubber-bumper-type-thingie from Home Depot and stick it in there between the switch and the pedal.

I think you can figure it out. Don't go to the dealer.
