Ok so I really need to get a sticker and pass emmisions. My car is a 96 mustang GT.I got long tube headers and a stock h pipe that has been welded to fit the longtubes and factory cats. For some reason I keep getting a rear o2 code so I used some mil eliminator kit. All my emmisions equip is working but my ckeck engine light comes on still. So I figure that I can clear the codes before I go in and add some ethonol to help reduce emmisions cause I'm not sure my cats are working right. Any other suggestions?

IDK about where your at but up here if you just clear the computer it will still throw a P1000 code meaning the computer was JUST reset.

Maybe a bad O2 sensor?

what is the regulations for inspection in your state for those of us who are unfamiliar......... i believe here in jersey they dont plug into the computer unless its 97+ .... 96 and under gets the sniffer.. which if you make a friend at a gas station which does inspection you are golden...?

I think austin just plugs into the OBD2 port...and not a real sniffer test. But if your throwing a code, it is still going to show up when the plug in, if im not mistaken.

it wont work clearing the codes before you go in cause they will just turn you away. When they plug up to the obd2 it will say system not ready. Thats from you clearing the codes and they will tell you to drive it about 50-60 miles and then come back in. So its best to just take care of the issue.

mil eliminators are hit or miss. Some people have them work perfectly and some (like me) still throw a code. The only real way to get rid of the problem is to buy a tuner and turn off the rear O2's. I passes with no problems at all that way.
