I have a 95 gt with a auto tranny and my overdrive button doesn't work and when I have the car in drive it shifts thru all the gears and it quickly goes into overdrive. Anybody have a idea of whats wrong or what I can do any info would help Thanks
What do you mean by overdrive button? The button on the handle that kicks/blocks out the O/D? It doesn't work? Probably just a bad sensor or a bad relay if the button isn't working.
Well on my car the button isnt on the handle its right next to the stick but yeah it does turn on and off the overdrive. If it was a sensor or relay I would get a check engine light wouldent I.
No. There is nothing wrong with the engine, the dummy light wouldn't come on because the button doesn't work. I know next to nothing about an automatic transmission. Try posting this in the 4.6 forum, they have the same transmissions as our cars.
