Help With transmission

hi i have a 2002 GT Stang my problem is when i shift into secong gear the gear sounds like it grinds when im over a certain RPM. IS it a prbolem with the tranny or what?

yeah sounds like tranny. i would try to change the fluid, and see if the problem still presists. if it dose, id take it somewhere and have them look at it. probally a syncro or something..... is syncro the right word?

certain rpm? need more info.

still, the 1st-2nd syncros are bad at high rpm shifts. common problem in a T-45 but i don't knoe of 02's have than tranny.

2002=3650.
Practice, maybe? I mean, I can grind it if I get sloppy. Are you saying this happens as you shift into 2nd at high RPMs, or after you are already in 2nd and you are increasing the RPMs?

sounds like your not disengaging the clutch all the way. get a aftermarket quad/firewall adjuster and break that POS stock quad into a million peices and burn it. then adjust the clutch so the release point is higher.

thanx all and ive heard bout the syncro i tihnk thats may be it. its not a miss of gear. when i rev over2 grand and dont let the engine wind down it grinds the second gear. thanx all

Sounds like you'll need to have Ford take a look at it.
