im new to mustangs so this problem is new to me. i just picked up a 94 gt 5speed, and when i try n hammer on it it doesnt go it feels like my fuel is cuting out on me. once i let up on the throttle its back to normal. ill try n drop the clutch and it just falls on its face, even when im on the freeway and drop to 4th and try to get on her she just doesnt wanna go anywhere, to me if feels like its starving for fuel. i changed the fuel filter ngk plugs new cap and rotor and new wires. i just dont understand why it does this. and help would be great. its mainly stock besides a short throw and a stage 2 clutch. she only has 115k on her. oh and the rear end is out of a 97 and its a 7.5in if it makes a difference. someone fuel pressure regulater but i just dont want to throw parts at it. so any help would be great thanks.

Welcome to the boards!

Did you already check codes?

Whether you check for codes or not the MAF sensor probably needs cleaning (MAF cleaner or equivalent). Just give it a good soaking and let it dry. Cleaning the MAF is probably the most overlooked item when doing a traditional tune-up.

its throwing no codes only things on the dash are airbag light once n awhile and anti lock. ill pick up some maf cleaner on friday and see what that does. could it be the pressure regulator thats bad? he said to pull the vaccumm line off and see if there is suction and if not then replace it. is there any truth to this?

oh and thanks for the welcome

+1 on cleaning the MAF. always a good place to start as a dirty MAF can cause all sorts of problems.

The only suction will be from the vacuum line with the engine running. The FPR adjusts the pressure based on engine vacuum. If you can test the fuel pressure you want to see about 39-41 psi KOEO and 35-39 psi KOER. Pressure should be steady.

that is at idle. also try watch pressure and play with throttle. see if it drops like a rock, stays steady, or rises rapid? it will move a little but look for anything off by 10 or more.
