I know you heard all these questions ive read over 20 pages and no clue for any of my problems.
I went through and rewired the rats nest gave it a major tune up plugs wires cap rotor and fuel filter.
Well i can't get it to idle right ive adjusted the timing but not sure if my cam is right on. I tried adjusting it not sure how to set it.
Now when i get up to 15 psi trying to get into it it will start popping and running like crap but will keep a steady boost if don't max her out all at once.
But my rpms aren't very high seems i have to shift around 4500 rpms can't get over 5,000. At idle it's around 1300 seems to be missing i think but i hear a tapping maybe a bad injector but also sounds like it's under the valve cover.

Ive also adjusted the tps to .98 have no codes that i know of. Also the vam has beeen played with and not sure what or where the needle is suppossed to be.
I guess i need some major help here throwing the turbo in has messed me up just threw another problem in the mix.
The boxes that are located on the left and right of the engine bay would these cause a problem??
What about the premium switch would this cause any problems and can i delete it???

I would run a code check on it first, both on and off engine. As for the Fuel switch, I really don't think that would cause this at all but I could be wrong. Maybe the IAC needs to be adjusted also on the idleing issue

Now not being able to get over 4500rpms seems to be about right for a stock 2.3T to me BUT thats my opinion. I know my SVO don't make crap after 4500 I think once you do some exhaust work and intake work it gets up into the 5k area. When it starts poping and running like crap I can't help but wonder if its runnig lean? I realy would run a code check before I did anything. I can't think of the boxes your talking about but maybe its the areas where the starter solenoid is located on the right and the boost solenoid stuff is on the left?

I know that don't answer your questions but maybe it will give ya some food for thought.

Good luck and lets us know how it goes
