i just did a aode to t5 swap and my swap went perfect, my buddy has installed everything(aode) from my car and now when he goes to bump the key he doesnt even get a click out of it? Has anyone had any problems like this> my swap went great! The aode to 5 speed is the best thing ive ever done to the car yet! but i just wanna try to help him out bc i dont things to be good on my end and be not working on his.. So if anyone has any suggestions please post.also hes trying to bump the starter in order to tighten the converter bolts, do you think the car wont turn over because of him trying to do it that way?

I am with Justin. I dont know with exactness on an SN, but it should be VERY similar to a fox in that you have to jump neutral safety switch for the auto (since you dont use it anymore) and if you installed the clutch safety switch, make sure it is seeing the cranking signal from the ignition switch, and that juice is making it out of the switch (it is adjustable) and to the solenoid.

One last thing to consider is that the shifter cable is set in the right place (park or Neutral position), depending upon how you did things. Otherwise the car wont want to start.

Good luck.

I don't think it's the neutral safety switch. Since I installed my Tremec 2 summers ago I've never hooked it up. I'll pull a code for it when I do a puter scan, but no problems starting or CEL.

O yeah and yes the t5 swap was by far the best thing i've ever done to my car! its feels WAYYYYY more powerful and with 4.10s the car litterally TEARS the tires off in first and second with M/T ET Street tires!the whole install took me about 3 hours and some change puting the whole t5 assmebaly in. Also, i wanted to add now im getting a check engine light that blinks ? anyone know what that could be>?

Hey Shawn I appreciate your help on this matter. Now here's the 2 problems that I'm having with the auto install. When tightning the transmission to the block the4 bolts to the torque converter and the weight on the flywheel are contacting the block dustcover, and the engine won't even turn. Now when installing the TC I made sure it clunked into position. What am I doing wrong everything is lined up perfectly...Pretty funny queston, but is the flywheel on backwards? The other question is the neutral switch. I took the starter off and turned the key and it's not even moving so something else is wrong. When adjusting the shifter cable, I put it in drive and push the trans lever all the way forward and came back 3 clicks. Help me out guys

Did you guys swap computers also????Find the conector that hooked up to the switch that wont let the car start if you dont put the clutch in(whatever the hell its called) and short it out.I'm just guessing but on a stick car exactly what your desc. is what happen when you dont push the clutch in.

Yes we switched everything out. That's what I was kinda thinking also. Maybe theres someway to to cut that signal out? First I have to get this motor turning when everything is bolted down. I'm going out to look at the TQ and see if its pushed all the way back into the trans.

Update--Got the transmission on now everything is okay with the install on that side. Now to the starting problem. We're going to try and bypass the starter safety switch...we'll see what happens.

there is no doubt in my mind this is a neutral safety switch problem. on the starter relay there is a little black boot that if you pull off you should be able to get the starter to spin. i believe.

I have my clutch safty switch bypassed with a 10 amp fuse. It might be the same thing.

took the words right out of my mouth. if the battery is connected and good and he cant get anything to crank, the neutral safety switch needs to be checked. basically, the eec thinks the car is in a drive gear so as a safety mechanism, it is disabling the starter.

Yeah it has to be the neutral switch. I got a toggle switch for the connector, and I'm going run it as a bypass. First someone told me to run some wires to the neutral switch then to the toggle, and split with one going to the battery then one to the starter solenoid. I'm just going to run it straight to the toggle. God I'm so damn ready to drive my car!

If the auto trans is no longer used, bridging the NSS connector should be sufficient, since you are now using the clutch safety switch, which is on the same circuit. At the factory, both are wired and only one is switched.

If you unplug the connector from the clutch safety switch, you need to jump the terminals so the car will start (albeit with no clutch depression). A blade fuse happens to fit in the connector well.

I would note that I am not a huge fan of this since it does remove the safety switch from the starter interlock circuit - if anyone else drives the (including dudes at shops), they could attempt to start the car in gear.

Alright I got the bypass done so now the car is running, but the transmission won't go into any gear. I went thru all the gears and came up with nothing. I messed with the shifter cable. I put the shifter into drive and pushed the lever all the way forward and came back three clicks. If it's out of sync why does the reverse light come on? I'm really getting tired of this.
