Alright I got the bypass done so now the car is running, but the transmission won't go into any gear. I went thru all the gears and came up with nothing. I messed with the shifter cable. I put the shifter into drive and pushed the lever all the way forward and came back three clicks. If it's out of sync why does the reverse light come on? I'm really getting tired of this.

You might want to start a new thread. It sounds like you have an automatic, and since you jacked the thread, it will confuse people (I just had to re-read half of this since I couldnt figure out where this post came from - we were talking about a guy who swapped from AODE to T5).

In your thread, post if you have an AODE after all. I WOULD NOT bypass the neutral safety switch on an auto - there is NO reason to do so.

Good luck.

I think this is the guy (boost addict) that swapped tranny's with him .... but yeah, maybe you should start a new thread about it to get some more help.

BTW, it's not safe on manual transmission cars either. I did this to a Ranger. I could start / take off at the same time, lol. Not very safe if you park behind a tree & forget you bypassed it ... then try to start it. Ask me how I know. (Before, as a bad habit, I was used to turning the switch all the way, then pressing the clutch in to start it .... except this time it was in gear + no NSS)

Ah so Justin - I didnt gather that. I can see why BA would have posted on the thread (I still think a new thread is in order just for clarity's sake).

And I agree with you all the way about the CSS (sticks).

There are a few threads around with pics of guys who launched through buildings and what-not because of this (just reiterating Justin's wise advice).
