Lexus is just a fancy word for Toyota, and they are far from perfect. I know plenty of people who aren't satisified with theirs. When you pay $30,000+ for a car, you expect the body lines to match up period, I don't car if it's a dang Yugo. It's not that difficult to do it right the first time.

Agreed. I have had literally no issues with my GT since I bought it new in 1999. Now at 52,000+ miles and five years old, its still like new.
Oh I had a couple of small issues early on, but nothing that wasn't straightend out in 30 minutes at the dealer under warranty.
No creaks/rattles/misaligned body panels/nothing.
I also believe my GT was pulled from the line and rechecked. It has alot of grease pencil markings and such under the hood and underbody, that I've never seen on another Mustang.

I had a 2000 V6 and the trunk was not right on it either. My brother and the bodyshop guy at my Dad's dealership went to adjust it and the same thing happened. WTF?!? No adjustment? So they got out the die grinder and elongated the holes on the trunk hinge. That gave a fair ammount of adjustment. And they were able to make it almost perfect. Problem solved.

That's what I do when I'm doing custom work to cars. A lot of people by cheap aftermarket products that don't line up and there isn't enough adjustment in the stock piece to make it right. I just pull you the die grinder and go to it. Works 99% of the time.
Maybe it is me, but I have never had any trouble with dealerships.
I have always found you sweet talk them, nod you head a lot in agreement, and nicely tell them what I need to make it right and it happens.
I was not there with you, but with all the WTF's and pricks, maybe they thought you weren't treating them right.
Granted, these things should have been this way, but I have seen cars costing more then twice what a Cobra cost have issues like yours.
Heck, my house which cost me over $350K had all sorts of stupid things wrong, but a little chit chat and nice words got everything done as I had expected.

so what the hell are PDI techs for? Its their job and the prep guys to make sure the dealer doesnt take a car with defects. God i work for a BMW dealer as a PDI tech and if let something that big get by me i would be soooo gone!.....then again, its bmw were talking about here, they are a lot better at the quality and detail end of things than ford.
