hey ryan, check this out (serious)

You realize it will be like 10 times more work to change the color than it would be to just repaint it the stock color, it will also be a lot more expensive. You talk about selling the car and what not, so why put so much effort and money into something your just going to sell anyway?

yeah but im not driving a Brown mustang, car change ant that bad.

painted a black truck to a white truck, o well more sanding, if you dont like body work then yeah your not going to like changing the color, to me changing the color is just part of the process. which i dont mind, im not afraid to do this

it will take a month to get it all done...working only on Saturdays.

You have a decent looking 83 in great shape, there are a number of people on FEP that would be more than willing to take that car off your hands as it sits now. If you brought it to a junkyard or parted it out you would make alot of enemies in the mustang community.

It sounds like your want to sell it for alot more than you payed for it which just isn't happening, most fox mustangs V8 or not aren't worth much. I really dont get your reasoning about anything here.

this guy sprayed his car the original dark walnut metalic, and look how sick it turned out (plus its right hand drive) just thought you might like it. i know pace car was trying to convince you to stick with the oem color which would be a good idea imo.

enjoy

It actually doesn't look that bad. Yeah, you may end up going to another color. That's your choice. I don't like the color of my car from time to time. However, I bought it white, it will remain white, and I'll make the best with what I have. Not everyone has a brown mustang. It puts it in a class of it's own.

it just is one of them things that not my specialty

Because people are just born able to do wiring and other things..... You see this is one of many things you say or do that irritates everyone here, you make no effort to learn about anything, you just complain that somethings to hard. I dont think the automobile hobby is right for you if this is going to be your attitude. When I was your age I had tons of enthusiasm and no task was too big for me, and now I am 19 years old and know a LOT more than someone my age rightfully should.

im not particularly good at wiring either and its definitely not my specialty but i make efforts to improve my skills in it whenever I can. But its unlikely ill ever be good at it. I get overwhelmed with a crap load of wires myself. One of my friends on the other hand, no bundle of wires is too much for him and i hate him for it. Ryan might be able to make his brown car look better with new paint but its still a brown car. I think more then anything its the exterior trim that prevents that car from having the badass mustang look. The glx was never intended to look like a hot rod. Personally if i were him id jus wait till i get my liscense and maintain the car to be reliable and drive it. Drive it for a year or however long it takes, make some money and maybe by that point dad would be down with the v8 idead. At that point id jus get myself into an 87-93.

here are the following offers i have got for my car

$200 in cash
$600 in cash
$800 in cash
$1,000 in cash

i paid $1,600. im not taking a 1,100 dollar lose on this. if i could sell it for 1,600 right now i would but i would be back to square one of looking for a V6 mustang and there's no point so im keeping this till its painted and fixed up then ill see what offers i get on it, if its a offer i like ill sell, if its down low offers then ill keep it for the time being and then decided weather to do

im the same, i try but i make it worse, the wires just get me worked up and stuff.

yeah we have talked about it. drive it for a while and show him i wont race the thing ect and then we start looking into a V8 swap or selling it and buying something else, id like a 86-93 hatch.

thing is, the way my dads talking is if my grades for the 2nd semester are a's and b's and higher, which they are,(grading period ended 3 days ago) that paint will be on my dad so he is paying for that, all im left with it top and then dyeing the interior and putting a head unit in it which will all be under 700. (guessing high)

car needs a water pump to which is cheap so that dont matter.

im going to talk to him about it after he gets of work 2 marrow and ill let you all know.

Id say drive the car around when you get your license, save your money and buy something else...

Trust me, it seems like a long time from now, but coming from someone a good deal older, the time goes by fast! I will be done with college this May... feels like I graduated 8th grade yesterday!

Its true, im 24 and I remember being in high school thinking its never gonna end, im never gonna have a fast car, im forever under the control of my parents. High school somehow flew by. Here I am now making decent money and having a pretty high modded fox project. Heck ive owned my car 3 yrs now already which FLEW! The car isnt even close to finished yet. I definitely say do what you want to make the car look bettter if its cheap and jus drive the damn thing. Just having wheels in hs is a good feeling. Fast cars and hs kids really is a bad idea. I had plenty of classmates that proved that point.
