felt the same way, im 22 tho... im glad i didnt have a V8 when i was yonger... i wouldnt be able to drive today. i started out with a auto escort hatch no bumpers!.. then i got a v6 Grand prix.. all on my own, and i saved up all my own money to buy what ive wanted since i was 12.. and 5.0! and now i got one and a little more grown up and mature about driving... if i get a ticket for being stupid that my problem now.. and i will pay 4 it in the long run... but if i was his age with a V8, rolling up to skool everyones like light em up! .... im like F'in A Harry... im burning the peach fuzz off these cherrys.. anyways id be in jail or with out a car, or a license!!!

Well said! I've had my car for almost 6 years and I remember going to look at it like it was yesterday. Ryan is stressing himself out trying to grow up too fast and he just refuses to listen to us when we tell him to slow down, because apparently to him he knows better than us.

Having any decently fast car and not being mature about it is always a problem. I was more mature than most in high school, but had my "incidents."

Just keep saving. I'm in college, and all I do when I come home for break is work.

Why?

Because I want to be all done with H/C/I by the time the summer is up. Then I'll get a TKO or save even more for a T56 the next year. The wait is worth it. Just save, and don't cheat yourself or your car.

Don't spend any money on your car that you don't have to. Painting it and getting a new top is probably pretty smart. You'll get better resale out of it.

Buy a V8 in the end. Keep your eye out for a car that already has some basic modifications, and you'll have a solid base.

This is also all my opinion on what I'd do, it's your decision, we're just trying to help.

Just throwing in more food for thought here. Don't paint it, don't dye the interior and don't swap in a v8. The white interior is cool and it will fetch more money if you restore it rather than paint it. I know you hate the brown paint, but personally, if I was browsing for a cheaper V6 and found out it was repainted I'd probably keep looking. If you don't like things with wires, the V8 swap will be a nightmare, especially if you're thinking of going with a later EFI engine.

Like I said in the other post, if your number one concern is to get your money back, remember that you won't. There's almost nothing you can do to these cars to make money; they're either already worth money (Cobras, SVOs) or they're not. The car in original restored shape is worth more money.

And repainting it isnt gonna get you too much more for the car. you would be better off with that 1k offer. You live you learn. Im gonna get anally raped without lube on a project car that I paid 1k for and i sure as hell wont get it back. You would be better off selling your car now if you dont like it, getting the ~1k for it, and saving for a year or 2 and you can buy a sweet ass fox. In the meantime just sit back and start reading the TECH section or the tech section at corral.net and NOT the lounge/talk sections. Just some advice. You can call me an ******* or tell me your sick of my ****, or whatever you wanna cry about but its reality. Everyone has been trying to help you out for a while now.

idk if i get my money back on this when i sell it im just not selling it how it sits because its ugly to everyone, you and everybody else. how many brown cars do you see on the streets. this is the only brown mustang i have every seen in person. and im the lucky owner of it.

im painting it. end of story. mostlky this car will be sold on ebay or something when the time comes.

So how does the car run as it is right now? Is the car dependable? What shape is the top in? Rust?

Thing is, i'm actually thinking about finding a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder for a daily driver, but if you're wanting 1600 for it, it's gonna have to be pretty damn nice ya know? Hell i paid 1200 for my '88 GT.... To be honest if i were going to buy it, i'd rather it were brown and all matching than have a blue paint job with a brown interior.

exactly, who knows, maybe some gnarly 7 second fox owner wants to buy a nice stock vert for his wife, he sees your car, nice original paint, sweet ass white interior, all stock and he buys it. honestly, people like that are out there dude. dont get yourself down YOUR 15 YEARS OLD AND OWN A CONVERTABLE MUSTANG

starts all the time, the battery is just weak and need replaced, im getting a new one sometime. top ant really bad, just dirty and needs a window.

what do you think a light titanium frost for my car?

Btw the interior is getting changed to. not leaving it brown.

although i dont like the fact its a V6...im not selling it for the time being.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but do you realise that because it's a V6 and not a 4 cylinder, that you have to change the entire K member and front suspension to do a V8 swap? Man that's hella work right there and not worth it in my opinion. Seriously my interest in your car would be to do a decent restoration on it and just drive a nice running, nice looking retro vert on sunny days, and i'd have a sticker in the back that says "my other 'stang is a 5.0".

I pay my Cherokee off in April, and then i'm going on the hunt for a clean 4 cylinder/5 speed coupe for my daily driver and i'm gonna put a lift and mudders on my Cherokee for winter/mud fun. Maybe down the road i'll throw the SVO treatment to the coupe.

yes i know this, so dose my dad, i think thats half the reason he wont let me.

i gonna start saving for something like this but id rather start with a Stockish 302 so i don't kill myself. a 347 may be a little much for me to handle.
