on a 96 GT (OBD II) do you need to switch the ecu, when you swap from an auto to a manual..

i have done teh swap on a

1988 5.0 car, and a 1993 2.3.. and both ran fine with the stock auto computer, but they are both OBD I.. wich is way less picky than OBD II..

so i just wanna know if i have to pick up a computer too??

or if i can get a tune that will fix it or whatever..

yes you do need to swap the ecu

ok i just got off the phone with the guys at WMS racing.. apparently, it'll run just fine, but will throw a code, and the CEL will be on..

so it looks like i can swap it, then buy an ecu when i find one cheap

also the RPMs will hang and the car will die as you drive it occasionally
