Water line? I know the Cobra lower is missing the hole for the sensor, which leaves you with two options...both of which require tapping and drilling.

Either take your intake to a machine shop along with the sensor and have them drill and tap it. The flat spot where the hole should be is there, so it is a fairly easy job. You just don't want to go doing it yourself unless you have a drill press or VERY steady hands. You don't want to screw up your intake. The other, and this works very well, is to take your thermostat housing and have it drilled and tapped on the top flat spot with the molded hole. Then move the sensor there. I know a lot of people who did this...same location I put my fan thermo sensor.

That is easier to do because it is smaller and easier to deal with. If you have a drill press, it is VERY easy if you have the correct tap and drill bit. If not, take IT to the machine shop and have them do it.

You could also make a T in one of the heater hoses and put it there. But I find that tapping the thermostat housing is much easier, cheaper, and you don't risk damaging a good intake.

The only caveat with using the t-stat housing (you can buy one with a hole already drilled for 10 bucks at AZ) is that the sensor is located on the radiator side of the t-stat. If the stat sticks............. (for Chris's fan switch this is fine because if the stat sticks closed, the fan doesnt help you anyways). For a gauge however, I'd choose one of the other options he outlined. Just MHO.

Oh yea, didn't think of that. Good catch. Forgot that was on the radiator side of the thermostat housing. Yea, then I would have the intake drilled and tapped.

I just did this. There are two flat, circular spots on the lower intake, on the drivers side. You have to drill them out and then cut the threads. It is not that big of a deal. I used three progressively larger bits to drill the holes.

Just need a 9/16" drill bit for the last hole and the 3/8" NPT thread tap. It is very easy to do. Use some good oil when using the tap, work it in a bit then back out, and repeat until you have nice clean threads.

Test the sensor and the Water inlet fitting to make sure you have deep enough contact and you are good to go. I found the tap at Ace Hardware for $20 bucks, and the drill bit at Home depot for $9.

Do it right, take your time and it works fine. For an added power increase, have Tom Moss port it for you. I did my own, not too hard.

Mine is a 91 Cobra motor and there is a line that comes off the heater core pipes up to the TB spacer and back down to a Water fitting at the drivers side rear of the lower intake. I would assume his is the same???
