Anyone knows WHY it does not work with AOD?

The carb itself seems to feet my needs, but I have AOD.....

Per the instructions for the carb:

I think that means that it can be used if that part is purchased and installed. Maybe @horse sence can confirm or deny.

The reason is that the OD trans uses a different set up for the kickdown. Rather than the rod, or cable that came stock on a three speed auto..

Thanks guys, great. Strange how the marketing people at Holly almost pushed me away by the "does Not Work With A.o.d. Transmissions" statement.

Should have said" For use With AOD you need part XYZ"......

Here is the answer from Holley tec support:

It can if you use the correct parts and adjust it correctly for proper operation. Lokar offers the parts. Holley has no specific linkage parts to work correctly with the AOD trans only the c4 and c6 3 speeds with kick down. www.lokar.com

Hello Morten,

The Kickdown Cable that we have to offer will work with Holley or Edelbrock carburetors. The arm that is in the kit that fits onto the kickdown shaft has 2 holes in it for the cable to run through that corrects the geometry issue. One hole is for if you are using a Holley carburetor and the other hole is for Edelbrock style carburetors. You can choose part number KD-2AODU Black Universal housing (suggested retail price $99.95), or KD-2AODHT Braided Stainless Steel housing (suggested retail price $99.95), or XKD-2AODHT Black Braided Stainless Steel housing (suggested retail price $109.95). You can purchase one of these cable through a distributor and you will save money. We have a list of distributors on our website www.lokar.com. If you have any more questions you can contact me at 1-877-469-7440 ext. 8911.

Thank you Brian W. Tech Support Lokar Performance Products Inc. 10924 Murdock Dr. Knoxville, Tn. 37932 1-877-469-7440 Ext. 8911 tech@lokar.com tech8911@lokar.com
