My 85 vert off to the side in some of the pictures is the 5.0/5spd donor, have some pictures of it too
It's rougher than it looks, has had a lot of hard miles put on it. Then there's body, interior, etc. 4eye notch has been my dream for a long time, both kind of fell into my lap haha. Picked up the convertible for $200 from my buddy with 160k miles on it. Found the notch for $2000, scored it for $1600 running and driving with 107k miles on it. Figured with both I can finally do the swapThe vert is the donor? That looks like a pretty good car to be a donor?
Spring rates are different, everything else is the same. Rear end, brakes, etc. I have brand new lowering springs and shocks & struts that I bought for the convertible but never installed, going to throw it in the coupeI may be wrong, but I heard like a million years ago that the front suspension of the 4 banger was different from the V8. So you may need to look into that, and maybe upgrading yours to handle the heavier engine. Again, I probably don't know what I'm talking about. Last 4 cyl stang I had was like 19 years ago.
