its a high pitch noise that is constant with the engine at idle and probably while I'm driving. Does anyone know what this could be? Could this be a head gasket leak? thanks

Do you have an MSD coil by any chance?

It may just be your wife or girlfiend. Try putting her in the back seat or telling her that you've found another woman and see if the pitch changes.

rei-04,

When mine did that it was the power steering pump bearing. Get a low cost stethoscope and see if you can pin point it, be careful around moving machinery.

Good Luck, Don

If you have an aftermarket throttle body like BBK or Edelbrock or Power products you may have a high pitch noise like that. Mine is the throttle body and it sounds like it is coming from the drivers side of the intake...Big Time...sounds like a tea pot.

to add, the whistling often comes from the hole in the butterfly.

on my 91 GT I upgraded the Coil to the MSD TFI Coil and once I did there was a high Pitch noise coming from it I have heard alot of people have experienced it. Im not sure what coil you have but check and see if the noise is coming from the coil that might be your answer
