I have a 97 cobra with MSD 8.5mm wires. I read that MSD wires aren't any better than FMS wires sets and was thinking of switching. What could be the cause of the miss I have at WOT past 5000rpm. I've already changed plugs and that hasn't fixed the problem. Today I'll also chang the fuel filter. Anyone have this problem? What was the fix? Last night I lost to a 02 Camaro SS and a Mach 1 with 4.10 gears.

Have you had problems starting or at idle? What did you gap the new plugs at? What are all your mods? Does your car ever surge or hesitate? What gap did you set the new plugs at?
I have full msd on my 95 Cobra and I have never had any problems with their products, but mine is a distributor system. If your timing is good and you haven't changed much with the ignition, most likely it's fuel related. Just my experience. Have you had your fuel system cleaned or flushed recently, or checked your fuel pump/fuel filter? What octane do you run right now?

Plugs gapped at .54. No idle or start up issues. Plugs are autolite 764's. Haven't made it around to changing the fuel filter. I run 93 octane.

do you still have the plug wire covers on, if so look at the inside of those
covers if you find arc marks on them you need new wires I went with the
Nology wire and removed the plugwire covers on mine and sloved the problem.
